I see! That makes sense. Can you suggest a heuristic for how long one
should wait after a branch is created, before considering actual use
of the branch?
Perhaps it would be reasonable to cut an initial release tarball, say,
two weeks after the branch is created; or when no commits occur for a
week; or some such thing.
