This is OK for trunk/2.9/2.8 (and earlier release branches at your
discretion), provided you've tested that the glibc built with this patch
actually works.
If you can reproduce the problem with FSF glibc on x86 or some other
supported platform, please also send the patch (diffed against FSF glibc
CVS HEAD) to libc-alpha if you haven't already done so - I don't see any
reason for the problem to be specific to EGLIBC or to a particular
architecture.
